As mandated by the
State of Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles,
our course requires at least four hours to complete. The time
each student spends in the course will vary according to his
or her reading speed, cognitive processing abilities, and
other factors. For court-ordered students who are required
to attend an 8-hour class, we will be offering an enhanced
8-hour version of the Florida Internet Course at some point
in the future. Please visit our site periodically or contact
us for updates on new courses. |

If you have registered for the course shortly before your
due date and you believe that you will not be able to complete
the course in time, you might be able to obtain a date extension
from the court. If this is an option that you had not already
considered, please bear in mind that many courts do not
advertise that they allow a grace period for completions,
or that they might accept a certificate that is received
after your due date as long as it has been postmarked before
your due date. Furthermore, some courts will accept a faxed
copy of your certificate, placing your completion status
on hold until the actual certificate arrives in their office.
Finally, we have express shipment options available for
a nominal fee.
If you wish to cancel your registration or inquire about
a refund, please contact our customer service department
at (863) 616-9894. |
| When you successfully complete the course,
your certificate of completion will be sent to you automatically
via e-mail. (In some instances, a brief delay in the receipt
of the certificate might be encountered as the result of
our ongoing verification process.) In most cases, a student
will be required to print out the certificate he or she receives
via e-mail, sign it, and submit it to the clerk of the court
or other authoritative body to which he or she has been directed
to report. Please note that some counties do not accept certificates
sent via e-mail. Prior to your final exam, you will be provided
with a list of counties that currently do not accept certificates
and you will be given other options for delivery of your
certificate. For detailed descriptions of the reporting requirements
associated with each type of course attendance, please refer
to the course registration pages. Please be aware that it
is your responsibility to determine the manner in which your
completion is to be reported, the authority to whom you must
report your completion, and the timeframe in which your completion
must be reported.
For expedited delivery of
printed certificates, you can select either Priority or
Express shipment for a nominal fee. If you require emergency
shipment of your certificate (for instance, if you would
like for us to ship your certificate the same day you complete
the course), please contact us via telephone at (863) 616-9894
and we can arrange to do so. |
| We will do whatever we can to assist you
in the timely completion of your course work. In some cases,
you might be
able to obtain a deadline extension from the court or other
authority to which your completion must be reported. If you
wish to obtain an extension, you should contact the court
in which your case is recorded. If you contact the court
and
are unable to receive an extension, you can request express
shipment of your certificate from our office. |
| If you need assistance with our course, we
can best be reached through our contact page, which is accessed
by clicking on the "Contact" button at the top of
each page on our web site. Just complete the form and submit
it to us and we will respond to your request as soon as possible.
However, if you require immediate assistance by telephone,
please feel free to call us during our regular office hours
and we will be happy to answer your questions. Our
number is (863) 616-9894. Because of high call volume, from
time to time you might be prompted to leave a message on our
voicemail system, in which case we will return your call as
soon as we can. In the interim, please feel free to proceed
in the course until your issue has been resolved.
You may also fax your questions to us at (863) 683-0855. |
| We do not require that you provide us with
an e-mail address; however, we strongly suggest that you
provide us with a working e-mail address when you register,
as your certificate will be sent to you automatically via
e-mail when you have successfully completed the course. Another
benefit of providing us with your e-mail address is that
we will be able to automatically send you a registration
confirmation page containing your login code. Finally, if
you provide us with your e-mail address, we have one more
option by which to contact you if correspondence should become
necessary. You are not required to provide us with your personal
e-mail address if you wish to receive your certificate or
registration confirmation page using another account, and
we will not release any of your personal information to third
party vendors. |
| |
When you register for the course, you will
receive your login name, which is accompanied by a number.
If you happen to lose or forget this information, please
click on the login button at the top of the TicketSchool.com
home page. You will see a box that says "I forgot my
login." Enter your driver license number in this box
and then click the "remind me" button. An e-mail
containing your login information will be sent to you within
a short while. If you did not provide us with your e-mail
address when you registered, please contact us for this information
by using the “contact us” button found at the top
of this page. |
| |
If you are paying for your course by mail, please mail
your payment to the following address:
TicketSchool.com
Attn: Payment Processing
102 West Orange St.
Lakeland, FL 33815
If you are mailing your payment to us, please be aware
that we will not be able to provide you with access to the
complete course until we receive your payment, therefore
you should allow several days for your payment to be processed.
Please include your login name on your payment. We also
provide a secure online payment option for our customers
who need to complete the course within a short period of
time. |
| Our customers now have the option to review
the course material in an "open book" format while
they are taking their final examination. This feature is very
easy to use. If, at any time during the final exam, you wish
to return to one of the course units to look up the answer
to a test question, you can simply click on the open book
icon. This will launch another browser that you can use to
access the ten units of the course that you have already completed.
When you are finished, just click on the "X" in
the top right corner of the "open book" window to
make it disappear. You can use this open book feature as many
times as you want to while you are taking the final exam. |
| |
In order to see the price charged for your area, please
click on the "Prices" button found on our home
page. Next, select the state in which you were cited and
you will see the price for the course. If you do not wish to pay right away,
you can click on the "Pay later" button as you
log into and out of the course. |
| |
You can either pay for the course before
you begin or at any time up to the point at which you are
ready to take the final exam. Each time you log into the course,
you will be given the option to pay now or pay later before
resuming your course activities. Please be aware that if you
choose to mail a payment to us, we will need to process your
payment before you are granted access to the full course.
If you select the "Pay now" option, you will
be shown all of the payment methods accepted by TicketSchool.com.
You can pay by credit card using our secure on-line payment
service (Verisign), or you can mail, fax, or phone in your
credit card information to us. You can also pay by check
or money order if you desire. |
| A working printer is not required for the
course, but it is recommended because you will need to print
out your course completion certificate after it has been
e-mailed to you. If you do not have a working printer, you
will be given other options for delivery of your certificate.
Use of a printer is also helpful if you intend to pay your
course fee by check, as you will be prompted to print out
a check payment form, complete the information on the form,
and mail it to us along with your check. However, if you
do not have a printer or your printer is not working, you
can write your login name on your check. If you choose the
latter option, please be sure to print your login name and
other information legibly, as your access to the full course
could be delayed if we have difficulty determining this information.
Use of a working printer will also enable you to print out for your records
certain confirmation messages you receive from us while you are taking your
course. |
| |
The course material is presented sequentially, therefore
you will need to begin with the first unit and work through
each successive unit until you reach the final exam. Each
page contains an internal timer that must run down before
you can progress to the next page. The length of time you
will be required to spend on each page is determined by
the amount of material on the page or the length of a video
contained in a particular page. After the timer for a page
has run down, you can advance to the next page by clicking
on the "Next Page" link found at the top and bottom
of each page.
Before proceeding to the next page, you will need to complete
any practice exercises on the current page. Once you have
completed a page, you can always go back to it by clicking
on the page number, which is found in the "Jump to
Page" link located at the top and bottom of each page
of the course. By clicking on the links marked "Back
to Sections," you can access the index page for the
course. From this page, you can return to any units that
have been completed previously. |
| |
Near the end of the registration process,
you will be asked to answer ten personal validation questions,
which will re-appear at various points throughout the course
in order to confirm the identity of the course user. These
questions are not a marketing tool or some form of survey,
therefore we ask that you carefully consider each response
that you provide. When the questions re-appear later in the
course, you will be required to give the same response that
you provided when you registered for the course. |
| |
After you have completed all ten units of the course and
paid the course fee, you will be able to access the final
exam. From the course units index page, you will need to
click on the link at the bottom that says "Take final
exam." You will then be given the choice to review
the material you have just learned or go directly into the
exam. When you choose to take the exam, you will be asked
40 questions that are drawn randomly from the material presented
in the ten units of study. In order to pass the exam, you
must receive a score of at least 80%, which means that you
can miss no more than eight questions.
You will be given several opportunities to take the final
exam. Please read the instructions carefully before you
begin taking your exam. After you have answered all of
the questions, you will need to click on the "submit" button
and you will be notified automatically of your results.
When you successfully complete the course, your certificate
will be sent to you automatically via e-mail, unless you
have selected another option for delivery of your certificate. |
| |
If you would like to receive express shipment
of your certificate, please call us at (863) 616-9894 and
we will be happy to provide you with this service for a nominal
fee. If you would like to have your certificate express shipped
the same day you complete the course, please call our office
by 3 p.m. on the day that you complete the course. |

TicketSchool.com reports completions to
the clerk of the circuit court in certain counties on a
weekly
or semi-weekly basis. We also report DHSMV-Ordered BDI (Formerly Known as "TCAC") completions to
the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
on
a regular basis. However, most counties do not require that
schools report student completions; these counties place
the
responsibility of reporting course completions upon the student
who completes the course. Most counties require that students
return their completion certificates to the
clerk of the circuit court by a specific date (usually referred
to as a deadline date), which varies from one county to another.
Please note that this course completion date is different
from the payment date. For instance, when an individual receives
a traffic citation, the deadline date for payment is usually
30 days from the date the citation is issued, and the course
completion deadline date is usually from one to two months
after the date that the individual elects to attend traffic
school. If you have elected to attend traffic school, you
should be aware of the timeframe in which you must complete
your coursework and send your completion certificate in
to
the appropriate authoritative body. If you are unsure of
these dates, then you should call the appropriate party
(e.g. the
clerk of the circuit court in the county in which your citation
was issued) to obtain this information. |
| |
No, you can spend as much time on the course
as you wish. Because you receive a unique login name when
you register for the course, you will be able to access the
course from any computer that allows you to browse the Internet.
Your course progress is updated automatically after you complete
each page of the course, therefore you will be able to log
out of the course at one computer and pick up where you left
off at another computer. If you wish to leave the course at
any time, simply log out, and log in again when you are ready
to resume your work. You can spend hours, days, or even weeks
on the course, but please keep in mind that your certificate
will need to be turned in to the appropriate authority by
a certain date. |
| To get started in the course, click on the
"Register" button found at the top of each page
on our web site and select a state. After you have read the
information on each course and selected the one that's right
for you, just complete our on-line registration form. You
will receive a personal login name and number that you will
need to retain for future access to the course. Once you have
received your login name, you can enter and exit the course
at your convenience! |

In certain situations, TicketSchool.com
will fax a student's completion certificate to the clerk
of the
circuit court at the student's request for a nominal fee.
TicketSchool.com maintains a record of its transmissions
to
clerks of the court; however, because of the often unpredictable
nature of such communications, we make no guarantees that
the clerk will receive or acknowledge certificates transmitted
in this manner. If you would like for us to fax your completion
certificate to the clerk's office, we require that you obtain
their permission for us to do so and provide us with the
fax
number and the name of the person to whose attention the
certificate should be faxed. A list of phone numbers for
the various clerks
in the state of Florida is provided at the bottom of this
FAQ for your convenience. Please be advised that 1) YOU
are
ultimately responsible for ensuring that the clerk's office
has received your faxed certificate, and 2) receipt of your
faxed certificate by the clerk's office may not remove your
obligation to submit a signed, original document. PLEASE
NOTE
that you must pass the course before 12:00 p.m. on a given
day to ensure sufficient time for your certificate to be
faxed that same day. If you
pass the course AFTER 12:00 p.m., we will make every reasonable
effort to accommodate your request, however, due to varying
clerk of court hours, your certificate may not be faxed
until the following day. |
| Your court docket or case number should be
located on your citation. This number is also sometimes referred
to as your ticket or citation number. If you cannot determine
the correct information you need to register for the course,
or if you cannot find this information, please obtain it from
the court or other appropriate authoritative body before completing
the registration process. |
| |
The good news is that you can complete the
course from any location-wherever you can find a computer
with access to the Internet! You can log into and out of the
course whenever you wish and you will not even need to leave
the security and convenience of your home or office. Although
you can take the course anywhere, your completion certificate
will need to be sent to the appropriate authority, such as
the county in which your citation was issued. It is always
a good idea to make a copy of your signed certificate before
mailing it to the clerk's office. Also, sending your certificate
via registered mail, return receipt requested, will enable
you to determine the exact date that your certificate is received
at the clerk's office. |
| |
If you believe that you will not be able
sign the affidavit (your citation) electing the traffic school
option before your payment due date, you still might be able
to elect to attend traffic school. In some instances, certain
clerks of the circuit court will permit you to attend traffic
school after your payment due date if you pay an additional
fine and comply with other requirements imposed by the clerk's
office. In order to determine if you are eligible for such
an extension, please use the list found at the bottom of this
FAQ to locate the appropriate clerk's office and call them
for further information. |

Our on-line basic driver improvement course
provides you with the same benefits that you would receive
by taking a classroom course. These benefits include the following:
1) §318.14(9), Florida Statutes, states that your election of traffic school will keep
points from being assessed on your driving record (unless
you fail to submit your certificate of completion to the clerk
before your deadline date); 2) if your driver license indicated
a safe driver status before you received your ticket, then
you will be able to retain this status on your license; 3)
Florida law states that as long as you complete your traffic
school obligation, your automobile policy insurer will not
be permitted to raise your rates, cancel your policy, or non-renew
your policy, unless your insurer has had to compensate another
party as the result of a crash in which you were found to
be at fault. Please consult the appropriate sections of the
Florida Statutes and Florida Administrative Code for complete
details and verbatim accounts of the manner in which these
benefits are administered. Finally, by taking our basic driver
improvement course on the Internet, you will receive the benefit
of increased knowledge and awareness of defensive driving
strategies that could prevent you from being involved in a
traffic crash! |
| |
When you elect to attend traffic school, you sign an affidavit
(your citation) indicating your intention to complete the
requirements imposed upon you by the court. Part of the
affidavit that you sign is your acknowledgement that you
have not elected to attend traffic school within the previous
year. This means that if you elect to attend traffic school
on January 31, 2002 and you receive another ticket on April
4, 2002, you will not be able to elect to attend traffic
school for your second ticket. You will not be able to elect
to attend traffic school again until after January 31, 2003.
Furthermore, if you receive two tickets at the same time,
you will only be allowed to elect to attend traffic school
for one of your tickets (provided that you have not elected
to attend for a previous ticket within the past year). The
affidavit that you sign also verifies that you have not
elected to attend traffic school more than FOUR TIMES previously,
as the maximum number of times a person can elect to attend
traffic school in the state of Florida is five. If you are
ordered by a court to attend traffic school, or if you receive
a DHSMV-Ordered BDI (Formerly Known as "TCAC") letter from the Florida DHSMV ordering you to attend,
then you have not elected traffic school and your attendance
does not count toward your five-time lifetime limit.
If you mistakenly elect to attend traffic school when you
are not eligible to do so, or if you have questions regarding
your eligibility status, please call the clerk of the circuit
court in the county in which your citation was issued. Please
see the chart at the bottom of this FAQ for the numbers
to the clerk's offices in Florida. |

The course used by TicketSchool.com is Driver
Training Associates' Program for Driver Improvement-Florida
Internet Course, which has been officially approved by the
Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles as
having satisfied all state requirements pertaining to basic
driver improvement courses. Thus, our internet course is recognized
by all 67 Florida counties as a valid and equally approved
alternative to the standard classroom traffic schools, as
set forth in §318.1451 and §318.14(9), Florida Statutes. |
| |
When you register for the course, you will
need to select one of the following reasons for course attendance:
basic driver improvement, court order, DHSMV-Ordered BDI (Formerly Known as "TCAC"), or business and
industry. If you are not sure which of these choices you should
select, please read the detailed description for each category.
These descriptions are located on the second page of the registration
process. If you are still unsure, please call our office at
(863) 616-9894 and we will assist you in any way we can. |
In the event that you are attempting to proceed to the
next unit in the course and you are returned to the login
screen or you receive a "page cannot be displayed"
message, the problem might be caused by a failure along
the electronic route leading from your computer's server
to our server. Whatever the reason such an error occurs,
it is possible that your browser might be caching the page
containing the error. If this is the case, then it is a
good idea to check your browser settings in the following
manner to make sure the page does not continue to be cached:
If you are using Internet Explorer, select "Tools"
from the drop-down menu at the top of the screen, then select
"Internet Options." The "General" tab
should be selected. In the section titled "Temporary
Internet Files," select the "Settings" button.
At the top of the "Settings" screen, under the
section "Check for newer versions of stored pages,"
the radio button that is selected should be "Every
visit to the page." Click "OK" and then "OK"
again to exit.
In order to be certain these changes will take effect,
you should close down your browser completely, re-open it,
log in again and return to the last point accessed in the
course. If you still experience errors, then the problem
might be related to net congestion or some other phenomenon
not covered in this section. If your problem is being caused
by net congestion, you might want to wait until there is
less traffic on the Internet before attempting to access
the course again.
AOL customers and customers using non-IE browsers (e.g.
Prodigy, Netscape, and various Mac browsers) might have
to search within their browser settings to make the modifications
described above. |
If you click on the "check answers" button to
access the answer page for a quiz and the answer page does
not appear, the problem might be the result of pop-up suppression
software (e.g. Pop-Up Stopper) that has been installed on
your PC, or it could be caused by some of the other scenarios
described below. If quiz answer pages are not accessible,
you might want to try the following suggestions to correct
the problem.
Some examples of pop-up suppression software that might
be installed on your computer include Pop-Up Stopper, Pop-Up
Killer, GleanerSoft Ad Popup Terminator, PopNot, AdSubtract
Pro, or other programs that function similarly. If such
a program is running on your computer, then you could temporarily
deactivate the pop-up suppression software hile using our
course. Sometimes these programs have a built-in workaround
to allow users to access pop-up windows if they desire to
do so. For instance, if you have Pop-Up Stopper installed
on your computer, then you might be able to press the "control"
key while clicking on the "Check Answers" button
to open the quiz answer page.
If you do not have any pop-up suppression software installed
on your computer, then it is possible that your browser
is set to prevent pop-up windows from opening. Internet
Explorer does not provide this option, but several other
browsers do, including Netscape, Opera, OmniWeb, Chimera
and Mozilla. If this is the case, then you will need to
locate the appropriate setting switch and modify it to allow
pop-up windows to appear. The setting might be "buried"
somewhere in the "preferences" or "options"
area of the browser, which is sometimes accessible from
the pull-down menu at the top of the browser. If you temporarily
alter a setting in order to use our course, you can retraceyour
steps to change the setting back to its previous value after
you have completed the course. |
If, while taking the final exam, you click on the open
book icon and are unable to access this feature, then you
might wish to implement the steps outlined below.
If you have clicked on the open book icon and another browser
did not appear to launch automatically, then it could be
that the new browser has been launched somwhere on your
desktop behind the screen that is currently being displayed.
The opened window should still show up in the status bar
at the bottom of the your screen; if so, you can click on
the appropriate area of the status bar to maximize the window
that provides access to the open book feature.
If you cannot locate a second browser anywhere on the desktop,
then you can manually launch a second browser and alt-tab
back and forth between the two browsers. In order to do
this, simply minimize the screen in which the final exam
is showing (maximizing and minimizing the first browser
will have no effect on the final exam, but clicking any
of the other browser buttons [e.g. the "back"
button] can cause an exam failure) and then double-click
on the appropriate icon to launch a second browser. For
instance, if you are viewing the final exam with Internet
Explorer, then you should be able to minimize the first
browser and double-click the IE icon to launch the second
browser. In the second browser, you should go to the Website
you normally use to access the course and log in to the
course. By holding down the ALT key and then pressing the
TAB key, you can toggle back and forth between the two browsers.
One browser will contain your final exam and the other will
serve as your open book. If you choose to utilize this method
to access the open book feature, you will need to be careful
not to close the browser in which the final exam is displayed
or click any other "navigation" buttons in the
final exam browser while the final exam is being taken.
After you have clicked the "submit" button and
received your response from our server (i.e. "pass"
or "fail"), both browser windows can be closed.
If you cannot achieve a resolution to your difficulty by
following the steps outlined above, then please call (863) 616-9894 for further assistance. |

There is a video test page prior to getting into the course
that is set up to ensure that your computer is set up to
successfully play all course material. Once inside the
course, there is a green “Video Troubleshooting” button
on each video page that provides a step by step process
for solving most video related problems. Typically if the
video does not play it is because you do not have the latest
version of the Macromedia Flash Player, which you will
receive on the test page or on the troubleshooting page.
Also it is important to know that a faster computer will
play Flash content faster. A fast connection to the internet
will enable Flash content to be downloaded to your computer
more quickly. For best performance, close all other applications
other than the web browser with the Ticketschool.com course
while viewing Flash content.

a video troubleshooting guide.
If after following all steps of the Video Troubleshooting
guide you are still having video related problems please
