Our Florida drug and alcohol course is fully approved by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles as a Traffic Law Substance Abuse Education course in accordance with Section 322.095, Florida Statutes. This law states that anyone who has never been licensed in Florida or another U.S. state must complete this 4-hour course before a Florida Learner's Permit will be issued to them.

As required by State law, our course teaches about the physiological and psychological consequences of the abuse of alcohol and other drugs, the societal and economic costs of alcohol and drug abuse, the effects of alcohol and drug abuse on the driver of a motor vehicle, and the laws of Florida relating to the operation of a motor vehicle.

When Course Attendance Is Not Required

Drivers who have been licensed in another U.S. state do NOT have to take this course. Drivers who have been licensed in another country might have to complete the course, depending on the licensing standards of the country in which they were licensed.
