DTA offers Texas defensive driving and the Drug and Alcohol Driving Awareness Program (DADAP) in a live classroom setting through our Texas agencies.
You must contact the school to find out when and where classes are offered and how much they cost. Class fees are collected by the school, not by DTA.
Texas defensive driving, or the driving safety course as it is officially called in Texas, can be taken for the purpose of ticket dismissal. If you received a traffic ticket in Texas and the court has given you the option of deferred adjudication, this is the course you need.
DTA's defensive driving course is approved by the Texas Education Agency, the authority that regulates traffic school programs in Texas. Our TEA-issued course number is CP-090.
DADAP is a 6-hour course that can be taken for certain drug / alcohol related traffic offenses or for a mandatory 5% auto insurance discount. The DADAP Course is approved by the Texas Education Agency.
